Chennai Super Kings churned out a sensational all-round performance to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets in a thrilling clash on Sunday at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium. Chasing a challenging target of 204, CSK remained defiant to seal an emphatic victory. CSK began their chase in explosive fashion as Sanju Samson and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad attacked the Lucknow bowlers from the very beginning.

Samson scored a knock of 28, while Gaikwad continued his fine form with a brilliant 42. The major role was played by Urvil Patel, slamming a breathtaking 65. Down the order, Shivam Dube slammed 15 runs unbeaten to power the side to victory.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a flying start, with Mitchell Marsh blasting 85.
