Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Andy Flower has been fined 15% of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the IPL 2026 Code of Conduct during RCB's nail-biting encounter against Mumbai Indians on Sunday in Raipur. The incident took place in the 17.2 over of RCB's run chase when Flower was seen engaging in a tense discussion with the fourth umpire following a controversial boundary decision involving RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya.

It all began when Krunal attempted a lofted shot off spinner AM Ghazanfar towards the wide long-on boundary. MI's Naman Dhir sprinted towards the ropes and grabbed the ball near the boundary line before tossing it towards Tilak Varma while moving beyond the boundary.

However, Tilak was unable to complete the catch and appeared to signal a six. Meanwhile, replays showed that Dhir had come close to the boundary ropes, but he did not make any contact with the boundary cushion during his effort. In the wake of this, Andy Flower seemed to be upset and expressed his disappointment while engaging in a discussion with the fourth umpire.

"Andy Flower, Head Coach, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been fined 15% of his applicable match fee for breaching Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team officials," The IPL said in a statement.

Andy was found to have breached article 2.3 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which relates to “use of an audible obscenity during a match.” The incident occurred in 17.2 over when Andy spoke aggressively with the fourth umpire."

"Andy admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by Match Referee, Amit Sharma," read the statement from IPL."
