Veteran Indian batter Rohit Sharma served as a major pillar in India's batting department during the recent three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, remaining at his hard-hitting best with powerful performances. In the final ODI, he smashed a sparkling 79 off 69 deliveries to help India sweep the series 3-0. Chasing a target of 219, Rohit, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, made the light work of the chase, stitching a 170-run partnership to power India to complete the series whitewash.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had remained unbeaten on 110 off 86 to play his part as India sealed a dominant nine-wicket win. Meanwhile, during the process, Rohit Sharma accomplished a massive record as he overtook former Indian opener Virender Sehwag to become the only Indian opener with the most runs in international cricket. Rohit now has 16,137 runs in 386 innings from 361 international matches as an opener.
