India have named a solid squad for the upcoming Asian games, with Harmanpreet Kaur set to lead the side. Smriti Mandhana will serve as the vice-captain of the side, and Shreyanka Patil's presence remains subject to fitness.

Notably, India recently had a tough campaign at the T20I World Cup, where they were knocked out of the tournament during the group stage itself. At the World Cup, India could only manage to claim victories in three games that contributed to their early elimination.

Meanwhile, the squad is largely the same that featured at the T20I World Cup, except for one change in Yastika Bhatia, who has been left out of the line-up. The group features the likes of Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh and Bharti Fulmali. The 2026 Asian games will be held in Japan from September 17.

India squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana (vc), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, G. Kamalini, Bharti Fulmali, Sree Charani, Renuka Singh, Kranti Gaud, Arundhati Reddy, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav, Nandni Sharma
