BCCI to review India's performance amid dismal shown against Ireland and England

India's recent performances in T20I assignments have put growing pressure on team India, with BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia saying that the board will conduct a detailed review later this month. Saikia asserted that the board will evaluate the team's overall performances following disappointing outcomes against Ireland and England, with the aim of identifying the reasons behind India's struggles.
"The BCCI is currently observing the performance of the Indian T20 team which has not been up to the mark in the ongoing series against England. However this is not something abnormal and can happen in international cricket," Saikia was quoted as saying by PTI.
Under the leadership of newly appointed captain Shreyas Iyer, India have suffered five defeats on the bounce. Their struggle began during their tour of Ireland, where they lost the two-match series 2-0, registering their first-ever T20I series loss to Ireland. India's struggles continued against England as well, where they are currently 3-0 down in the five-match series. Meanwhile, India will meet England in the fifth and final T20I on Saturday.
"We consider it as a purely bad phase. Once the ODI series gets over on July 19 and the team comes back, we will have a review meeting with core members of the team to discuss what went wrong in England. Since there is an ODI series, we are hoping that team will be back in good form."
