"People are following him": Jordan Cox recalls his meeting with Virat Kohli

Indian batting icon Virat Kohli is set to make his much-anticipated return to international cricket in the upcoming ODI series against England after recovering from a hamstring injury. Kohli recently missed India's ODI assignment against Afghanistan as he was recovering from injury. It is now believed that Kohli has made a complete recovery and is expected to be part of the playing XI for the opening ODI at Edgbaston on July 14.
Meanwhile, England batter Jordan Cox, who shared the dressing room with Kohli at Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the IPL, shared an amusing story involving the Indian superstar. He revealed details about an unexpected meeting between the two in London last month. Both players had planned to catch up privately, hoping to avoid attention, but in no time their photos started to surface online. Reflecting on that, Cox admitted that he was surprised that someone managed to photograph them.
"The upsetting thing for him is that people are following him without him knowing. Hundreds of people walked past us, no one stopped, no one did anything. But then, about two hours later, he's texting me, going Have you seen all these photos? I was like 'what the hell?'," Cox told the Guardian.
"It's just a shame how many people want a piece of him. He just wants to go under the radar, have fun and live a normal life. Unfortunately, that's not always possible," he added.
Notably, Virat Kohli has stepped away from Test and T20I cricket, keeping himself active in the ODI format. Kohli was also instrumental in RCB's title win at the IPL 2026, amassing more than 675 runs.
