ZIM vs IND, 2nd T20I: Zimbabwe look for fightback as roaring India eye series

India and Zimbabwe are set to face each other in the second T20I on Saturday at Harare Sports Club. After a commanding performance in the opening match, India have a 1-0 lead, heading into the second match. India's all-round performance in the first game helped them overpower Zimbabwe. The highly notable performance in the series came from teenage batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who performed sensationally, slamming an explosive half-century that came off 18 deliveries.
Speedster Mayank Yadav made an immediate impact on his return, finishing with figures of 2-18 from four economical overs. Prince Yadav also sent down a disciplined spell, while debutant Ashok Sharma also impressed with his tremendous spell. Zimbabwe, however, will be eager to use familiar conditions to bounce back and take the series into a decider. They struggled to find sustained momentum with the bat despite a handful of useful contributions.
Wessly Madhevere was the highest scorer of the innings with 39, while Tadiwanashe Marumani remained unbeaten on 27. As they prepare for the second match, Zimbabwe will be hoping that their experienced players step up to inspire a turnaround. Captain Sikandar Raza, Ryan Burl, and Brian Bennett will be extremely important for the side.
