South Africa name new-look squad for Namibia tour, Fortuin handed leadership
South Africa have named a new-look squad for their upcoming tour of Namibia, with youngster Bjorn Fortuin set to lead the side. During the tour, South Africa will play a T20I tri-series, featuring hosts Namibia and Zimbabwe.
And later South Africa will turn their attention to the three-match ODI series against the hosts (Namibia). One of the most notable inclusions is all-rounder Duan Jansen, who has received his first South Africa call-up after performing brilliantly in domestic cricket.
All-rounder Eathan Bosch is also an uncapped T20I player included in the squad. The ODI group, meanwhile, features three players receiving their maiden call-ups – Connor Esterhuizen, Jordan Hermann and Nqobani Mokoena.
“We’ve selected one squad for both series as we feel we have all departments well covered and it provides a great opportunity for players to build on their international caps,” South Africa head coach Shukri Conrad said.
