Jemimah Rodrigues ruled out of Asia Cup and Asian Games
India have suffered a crushing blow, with Jemimah Rodrigues ruled out of both the Women’s T20 Asia Cup in the UAE and next month’s Asian Games in Japan after picking up a hamstring injury, according to the BCCI.
Rodrigues sustained the injury to her right hamstring while representing Southern Brave against Welsh Fire in England’s Women’s Hundred. A subsequent assessment at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence revealed a high-grade tear that has now put her on the sidelines.
Pratika Rawal has been brought into India’s Asia Cup squad as Jemimah’s replacement for the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, the Asia Cup will begin on August 28, with India opening their campaign against Thailand on August 30.
