SCO-W VS NED-W, 3rd ODI: Netherlands eye series win as Scotland target comeback
Netherlands women will be locking horns with Scotland women in the third and final ODI, scheduled to be played on Tuesday at New Williamfield. With the Netherlands carrying a 1-0 lead after thumping Scotland in the opening game by 58 runs, the match is crucial for Scotland to win in order to level the series. The third match is a do-or-die battle for Scotland after the second encounter was abandoned due to rain, robbing the hosts of an opportunity to level the series.
On the other hand, the Netherlands would be hoping to mount further pressure on Scotland to end the tour with a 2-0 series win. The Netherlands' top-order batters Phebe Molkenboer, Sanya Khurana, and Babette de Leede would once again look to play their part with the bat after performing brilliantly in the opening clash. Opener Phebe Molkenboer was particularly impressive, smashing a commanding knock of 106 off 144 balls. Sanya Khurana and Babette de Leede slammed 46 and 69, respectively.
For Scotland, Pippa Sproul was the lone fighter in the first game with a magnificent 79-run knock. Barring her, no other batter could step up to make major contributions. Nonetheless, Scotland women would be looking to come up with a renewed vigour to face the touring side.
