Hardik Pandya named in India A squad for Australia A series

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to return to India’s ODI setup after being included in the India A squad for a three-match one-day series against Australia A in Puducherry. The games are scheduled to be played between October 6 and 11; however, Pandya’s participation remains subject to fitness.
It is an important development as Pandya looks to get back into the ODI side after being on the sidelines for a long time. Since making his last ODI appearance during the Champions Trophy final in March 2025, Pandya has spent much of the time undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. During IPL 2026, he was forced to miss a few matches for Mumbai Indians after suffering from back spasms.
Devdutt Padikkal has been named captain of the multi-day side, with Sai Sudharsan as his deputy. For the one-day series, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named the captain, with Padikkal serving as vice-captain. The squad also features Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Priyansh Arya, Nishant Sindhu, Arshin Kulkarni and Naman Dhir. The two multi-day matches will be played from September 22-25 and September 29-October 2.
