India lock in star-studded squads for white-ball series against West Indies

India have unveiled their squads for the upcoming white-ball assignment against West Indies, with the three-match ODI series scheduled to get underway on September 27. The squad features Indian batting pair Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, as preparations for the ODI World Cup 2027 will commence with this series. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Test and T20I cricket but remain available for the ODI format. Shubman Gill will captain the team, while KL Rahul is named vice-captain. Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir have been handed their maiden call-ups.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja also return to the side. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been withdrawn from the Asian Games squad in order to include him in the ODI line-up. In the T20I squad, which will be led by Shreyas Iyer, a few familiar names return to the setup. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav is back after missing India's T20I series against Afghanistan. Kuldeep Yadav has also been recalled. Jasprit Bumrah, who is set to feature in the Asian Games 2026, has been rested for the West Indies T20Is. The T20I series will begin on October 6.
