New Zealand are reeling from an injury concern ahead of their much-anticipated home series against India, with allrounder Rachin Ravindra dislocating his right shoulder during a promotional event in Auckland earlier this week. Ravindra suffered the injury while attempting a diving catch during filming. He landed awkwardly on a safety mat after making the attempt. Ravindra underwent further assessments that ruled out any major structural damage to the shoulder. Meanwhile, Rachin’s availability for the India series remains in doubt. However, his return to action will become clearer through his progress during rehabilitation.

"It was a really unfortunate injury. We're gutted for Rachin and our key priority is making sure he recovers well and gets back on the field as soon as he can,” New Zealand Performance Manager Mike Sandle said

"As with all commercial shoots involving our players, the activities were agreed in advance by all parties, with appropriate safety measures in place. It was a bit of a freak accident, and we'll continue to review our processes around events like this in the future."

Notably, India are scheduled to visit New Zealand for a lengthy all-format tour next month, with the series commencing with five T20Is from October 22, followed by five ODIs and two Tests.
