Indian spinner Shree Charani earns highest-ever rating
Indian spinner Shree Charani has risen to the career-best rating points, retaining her place at the top in the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers and also achieving the highest-ever rating in the history of ICC T20I rankings for bowlers. Charani now has 817 rating points, usurping the previous record that belonged to Australian pacer Megan Schutt, who had 806 points.
It comes on the back of Charani’s stellar performance in the Asian Games 2026, where she played a big role in India’s gold medal win, snaring eight wickets across the three matches. Before that, she was also instrumental in India’s title win at the Asia Cup 2026, taking 12 wickets in five matches.
Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has also seen a rise in her rating points, occupying the second spot with 754 rating points. England’s Sophie Ecclestone is on third with 723 points. Meanwhile, Indian opener Smriti Mandhana jumped one place to get back into the top five of the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings after her match-winning effort in the Asian Games final. She slammed 79 off 46 in the final against Sri Lanka, playing a decisive role in India’s win.
