Gurnoor Brar enters record books with impressive spell against New Zealand

Indian pacer Gurnoor Brar delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking 4/30 in 10 overs during the second ODI against New Zealand in Wellington on Saturday. His spell helped India bowl out New Zealand for just 134 runs.
With this performance, Brar registered the second-best bowling figures by an Indian fast bowler in New Zealand. The record remains with Javagal Srinath, who took 4/23 against New Zealand in Auckland in 2003.
Brar dismissed key batters Tom Latham, Glenn Phillips and captain Mitchell Santner. He is also the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing series, with seven wickets at an average of 10.57.
After winning the toss, India elected to bowl and made an excellent start, reducing New Zealand to 53/5. Daryl Mitchell (55) and Santner (31) attempted to rebuild the innings with a 49-run partnership. However, the hosts suffered another collapse, losing their remaining wickets and finishing at 134 all out.
Apart from Brar's four-wicket haul, Axar Patel, Auqib Nabi and Anshul Kamboj picked up one wicket each.
India now need 135 runs to win the match and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series.
