Entered as defending champions, England have faced the worst World Cup campaign ever after slumping to the bottom of the points table after being eliminated from the ODI World Cup 2023. Boasting a robust squad, England failed to live up to the expectations with their six defeats out of seven games, drawing the curtains on their hopes of getting into the semi-final. They have only won one game in the tournament so far which is quite surprising after witnessing them secure the title four years ago in 2019. England are now preparing themselves to face Netherlands on Wednesday at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. England have two matches to go that also involves the clash against Netherlands. Playing their match against Netherlands, England will have a mammoth task of beating them to create the room for their chances to secure the spot in the Champions Trophy 2025. As per qualification scenario, top seven teams in the World Cup points table will be able to qualify for the champions trophy along with the host Pakistan. 

England will need to win their both matches to stand the chance to get into the Champions Trophy 2025. Talking about both team's World Cup campaign, England's campaign has been rife with absolute disappointment with their heavy defeats. Netherlands, on the other hand, have not been eliminated so far but they will need to win their remaining two matches and hope for other results to go their way to make it to the semi-final. Netherlands have shown a drastic improvement in their performance after stumping South Africa by (38) runs in a rain-affected clash. Netherlands had their last match against Afghanistan where they suffered a 7-wicket defeat. For Netherlands as well, a win against England will be important to near the qualification for Champions Trophy. Netherlands have so far been bolstered by Max ODowd, Colin Auckermann and Sybrand Engelbrecht in the batting unit whereas their bowling has been led by Colin Ackermann, Paul van Meekeren and Logan van Beek.
