SA vs IND 1st Test: South Africa beat India by an innings and 32 runs

Virat Kohli toiled hard to keep giving hope to India to remain alive in the game but other end could not be secured as India lost the first Test match against South Africa by an innings and 32 runs on Thursday at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion. South Africa continued to maintain their dominance over India to emerge victorious in the match that saw high-voltage performances from both sides. The Proteas showcased an array of exceptional performances in both batting and bowling to take a commanding 1-0 lead over India in the two-match series. Talking about the match, India had been put into bat where they scored 245 runs in the first innings on the back of a brilliant innings coming from KL Rahul who scored 101 runs in the failure of other batters. South Africa, in their first innings, made huge gains with the composed innings played by Dean Elgar scoring 185 runs in what is his last Test series of his career. Marco Jansen, who was earlier limited to brilliant bowling, scored 84 runs to propel the side to 408, taking a hefty lead. India in their second innings lost seven wickets in the second session as they were bowled out for 131 in 34.1 overs. Nandre Burger and Marco Jansen ripped through Indiaโs middle-order to wrap up the game inside three days. Virat Kohli played a resolute innings of 76 off 82 as he was the last batter to lose his wicket.
