In a nail-biting showdown, West Indies Women emerged victorious over Pakistan Women by 2 wickets in the second ODI, securing a thrilling series-clinching win on Sunday at National Stadium Karachi. A brilliant batting show, coupled with an outstanding bowling attack, powered West Indies to a thrilling win, leading the three-match series 2-0.
In their pursuit of 223, West Indies were off to a good start after skipper Hayley Matthews scored 44 off 63, followed by Shemaine Campbelle and Stafanie Taylor’s 52 and 73 respectively. However, Nida Dar’d four-for put West Indies in a tough situation, losing their wickets at regular intervals. Karishma Ramharack hit winning runs by slamming a four, with West Indies needing one off three deliveries. Contributions from both bat and ball ensured that West Indies crossed the finish line comfortably.
Deciding to bat after winning the toss, Pakistan posted a fighting score of 223 before being bundled out in 48.5 overs. Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof brought up 50 and 65 respectively, helping the side have something valuable to defend. For West Indies, Chinelle Henry and Karishma Ramharack took three wickets each.
