IPL 2026: MI face RR in high-stakes clash

The ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 is set to witness a compelling clash as Rajasthan Royals lock horns with Mumbai Indians in the 13th match of the tournament at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Both teams boasting a full-strength line-up head into this battle with very different levels of momentum. Rajasthan have begun their campaign swiftly, securing two wins and consolidating their position early in the tournament. Their victory over Chennai highlighted their ability to control a game from start to finish, while their temperament against Gujarat Titans demonstrated their nerve under pressure.
Much of this success can be attributed to the leadership of Riyan Parag, who has impressed with his decision-making in high-pressure games. He has also made immense contributions with both bat and ball, which have been vital in maintaining the team’s balance. Moreover, the experience of Ravindra Jadeja has added stability. One of the standout features of Rajasthan’s campaign so far has been their explosive starts. The opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi have consistently given the side flying starts in the powerplay.
Mumbai, on the other hand, have been destructive, but they are yet to find consistency. They enjoyed a wonderful chase against Kolkata, which was powered by a stunning opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. Rohit, in particular, has been in fine touch, leading from the front with the bat. Another positive sign for Mumbai has been the return to form of Suryakumar Yadav.
However, the lack of runs from Tilak Varma remains a big setback for MI heading into their match against RR. Nonetheless, Mumbai could also receive a timely boost with the expected return of Hardik Pandya, who missed the last game.
