"Lack of clarity": Ex-Indian player questions Indian management following Jaiswal's inclusion for Afghanistan ODIs

Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has questioned Indian management's decision to include Yashasvi Jaiswal in the playing XI for the second ODI against Afghanistan on Wednesday at Ekana Cricket Stadium. Jaiswal not only was included in the playing XI, but he was also promoted to open the batting alongside Rohit Sharma at Ekana Cricket Stadium. However, he endured a disappointing outing, falling for four runs. His promotion came after skipper Gill demoted himself to No. 3, where he thrived, slamming a classy 154-run knock to help India put out a massive total of 402. Expressing concern, Tiwary believed that there is a lack of clarity from the management and the change in batting order will trigger confusion.
"It will just create a headache for the future and nothing else, if they open with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma and demote Shubman Gill. Now, if he scores runs there, he will be thinking, should I go back to the top or not?" Tiwary said on Cricbuzz.
"So, I have no idea what they are trying to do at all. I see a massive lack of clarity here, but it feels good to see Jaiswal play, because he deserves to play all formats. If Rohit Sharma somehow doesn't fire today, then there will be a lot of mental pressure from the outside," he added.
Meanwhile, India claimed a thunderous 170-run victory in the second ODI to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Following India's gutsy performance in the batting department, Indian bowlers stepped up with decisive spells, bowling Afghanistan out for 232 in 44.3 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar took three wickets each, while Prince Yadav and Washington Sundar returned with 2 and 1 wicket, respectively, to demolish Afghanistan.
