Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered a scintillating century as India romped to a nine-wicket win in the third ODI against Afghanistan to complete a clean 3-0 sweep on Saturday in Chennai. It was really a superb all-round performance from India made possible by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten century and Prasidh Krishna’s maiden five-wicket haul in international cricket.

Chasing a target of 219, India’s opening pair came out in high spirits, putting Afghanistan under pressure. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched a magnificent opening stand that largely brought things in India's favour. Veteran star Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 79, forging a remarkable 170-run partnership with Jaiswal. After Rohit's dismissal, Jaiswal remained firm, blasting a batting masterclass. He played a range of stunning shots to score an unbeaten 110.

Earlier, Afghanistan endured a difficult start after deciding to bat. Prasidh Krishna ripped through the top order, returning with a five-wicket haul. However, Afghanistan got support through captain Hashmatullah Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai. Shahidi registered his maiden ODI century, scoring 102. Omarzai provided valuable support with 50 to take Afghanistan to 218 before being bowled out in 44.2 overs.
