“Hope is still...”: Krunal Pandya’s message after being left out India squad for Afghanistan T20Is
Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya missed out on selection for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan; however, he remains resolute in his determination to make an India comeback. After being left out of the squad for the Afghanistan T20Is, Pandya shared an optimistic message, indicating that he remains focused on returning to the international stage.
“Hope is still alive,” Krunal wrote on his social media handle.
Before India’s squad was announced, there had been some speculation that Pandya could receive another opportunity in Indian colours during the Afghanistan series; however, those expectations did not come true following the selectors' decision to bring in other players. India went with Axar Patel as one of the primary spin all-rounders. India also have Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi in the line-up.
Meanwhile, Krunal has been waiting on the sidelines since 2021, as he has not played for India since that year, when he made his last appearance in the T20I format. He has featured in 19 T20Is for India, scoring 124 runs in 10 innings. In the bowling department, he has taken 15 wickets, with his best figures being 4/36. India are set to face Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series, starting on September 13. All matches are set to be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
