Zimbabwe have announced their squad for the upcoming tour of the United Arab Emirates, with Sikandar Raza set to continue as the side’s ODI captain in the absence of Richard Ngarava, who is recovering from a back injury. The tour will begin with an ODI tri-series involving Afghanistan and Bangladesh, scheduled to get underway on October 17.

Zimbabwe will then face Afghanistan in a separate bilateral series featuring three T20 internationals and two Test matches. Zimbabwe have included exciting talents in wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga and legspinner Vincent Masekesa, who both have been very impressive in domestic cricket.

There has also been a notable change to the ODI squad, with Graeme Cremer being omitted. Cremer featured in one of Zimbabwe’s three ODIs against Australia last month. That appearance was also his first outing in the format in eight and a half years. Innocent Kaia is another absentee.

Zimbabwe ODI Squad: Sikandar Raza (c), Ben Curran, Blessing Muzarabani, Brad Evans, Brendan Taylor, Brian Bennett, Craig Ervine, Ernest Masuku, Newman Nyamhuri, Ryan Burl, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Tafadzwa Tsiga, Vincent Masekesa, Wellington Masakadza, Wessly Madhevere
