India A team will be battling Australia A in the two first-class matches ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy later this year. The fixtures will serve as the biggest platform for both teams to consolidate their gameplans ahead of the marquee series. This will also provide a chance to both Australia and India’s upcoming talent to demonstrate their prowess. Cricket Australia also confirmed the details of India’s intra-squad clash that will involve main team and A team.

"To have that running simultaneously with the women's ODIs and preceded by two significant Australia A v India A matches will be terrific for our fans," CA Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling, Peter Roach said.

"Hosting those A matches at the upgraded Great Barrier Reef Arena and the MCG give these 'A' matches significant status and will provide great opportunities to players from both sides to put up their hand for selection.”

The first of the two matches between India A and Australia A will be played from October 31 to November 3. And the second game will be played at MCG from November 7 to 10. The opening Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy will be played at Optus Stadium from November 22. India carry the weightage as they eye third consecutive series victory on Australian soil.
