BBL, 2025-26: Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers gear up for high-stakes BBL Qualifier clash

Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers will lock horns at Optus Stadium on Tuesday with a direct place in the BBL|15 Final on the line. Both sides have finished in the top two, and the qualifier offers a golden reward, as the winner will have an uninterrupted path to the final. Sydney Sixers, heading into the qualifier, have been dealt a massive blow with star all-rounder Sam Curran, who was instrumental and earned the player-of-the-match award in their past game, playing no further part in the tournament.
Curran has departed to join England’s squad ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Sydney Sixers have recalled Jordan Silk. Perth Scorchers, on the other hand, will take confidence from their recent success against the Sixers. When the two sides last met earlier in the season, the Scorchers recorded a five-wicket win.
Notably, while the winner of this showdown will storm into the final, the losing side will have a second opportunity to reach the final. The losing team will host the Challenger on Friday night, facing the winner of Wednesday’s Knockout clash between the Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars.
