Delhi Capitals’ long-standing dream of finally lifting the Women’s Premier League trophy ended in heartbreak once again as Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women produced a commanding performance to win the WPL 2026 final by six wickets in Vadodara on Thursday. For the fourth time, Delhi Capitals reached the final with huge hope, only to fall at the final hurdle, with RCB standing in their way and delivering a terrific performance to clinch their second Women’s Premier League title in emphatic fashion.

Asked to bat, Delhi Capitals posted a mammoth total of 203/4 in 20 overs, riding on a captain's knock from Jemimah Rodrigues and late fireworks from their power hitters. Rodrigues anchored the innings with a composed half-century, setting the platform before Laura Wolvaardt and Chinelle Henry fired in the latter stages. Wolvaardt was run out for 44 on the final ball of the innings, while Henry remained unbeaten on a blistering 35 off just 15 deliveries to help DC cross the 200-run mark.

Chasing the target, Royal Challengers Bengaluru approached the chase carefully. The early loss of Grace Harris, who managed just 9, did little to dent their momentum as Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll took complete control of proceedings. The pair dismantled the DC bowling attack with their partnership. Voll played the aggressor’s role, compiling a much-needed 79 before departing, but by then the damage had been done. Mandhana, meanwhile, scored a sublime 87. Meanwhile, Radha Yadav scored winning runs, scoring 12* off 5, to take the side to victory.
