USA announce squad for T20 World Cup 2026, Jayasuriya makes the cut

The United States have revealed their 15-member squad for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. The tournament will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, getting underway on February 7.

The notable inclusion is former Sri Lanka all-rounder Shehan Jayasuriya, who is set to make his international debut for the USA at the age of 34. Having previously represented Sri Lanka, his presence is expected to add balance and depth to both the batting order and bowling attack.

Another notable name in the squad is Shubham Ranjane, who has already featured in four ODIs for the USA. However, he is yet to make his T20I debut. Meanwhile, as many as 10 players from the USA team that reached the Super Eight stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup have been retained. The USA have been placed in a challenging Group A, where they will face heavyweight opposition in defending champions India, alongside Pakistan, Namibia, and the Netherlands. The USA will kick off their World Cup campaign in a high-profile clash against co-hosts India in Mumbai on February 7
