ILT20 2025: Dubai Capitals overcome Desert Vipers to clinch maiden title

Dubai Capitals beat Desert Vipers by four wickets in the final on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium to clinch their maiden ILT20 Title. Rovman Powell and Sikandar Raza played their key roles, scoring (63) and (34* off 12) respectively to help the side chase 189 in 19.2 overs. 

Earlier, sent to bat, Desert Vipers posted a rather challenging total of 189 on the back of Max Holden (76) and Sam Curran’s (62) indispensable knocks after they endured a depressing start, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Alex Hales losing their wickets for five runs each. Azam Khan also played an effective innings, scoring 27 off 13. But, that didn’t prove to be a sufficient total as Capitals smoothly chased it down. 

During their chase, Dubai Capitals, had a good start following a 43-run knock from Shai Hope, but experienced campaigners David Warner and Gulbadin Naib failed to score, falling for (4) and (5) respectively. Nonetheless, Rovman Powell revived Dubai Capitals with his much-needed (63). Dasun Shanaka also played an impactful innings, beating 21 off 10. Meanwhile, Raza remained unbeaten to take the side to their maiden title victory.
