Rohit Sharma named in Mumbai's squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy

Mumbai have unveiled a balanced squad for the first two matches of the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, with Rohit Sharma being named in the squad. Leadership duties will rest with all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who has been appointed captain for the opening fixtures.
Among the notable inclusions are Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan, both of whom have been consistent performers in domestic cricket, along with young batting prospect Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Meanwhile, several high-profile names are missing from the squad. Ajinkya Rahane, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ayush Mhatre have not been selected for the first two games.
In their absence, the team management has opted to give opportunities to players who have impressed on the domestic circuit. Chinmay Sutar has been included in the squad after previously representing India Emerging in 2019, where he featured in four matches.
