Sri Lanka name 16-man squad for England T20Is, Dasun Shanaka to lead
Sri Lanka have named a 16-member squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against England, set to begin on January 30 at the Pallekele Cricket Stadium. The series is important as it serves as the final competitive rehearsal for both sides ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which starts on February 7.
Dasun Shanaka will continue to lead the side, with the management placing confidence in his leadership. Left-arm-spinning allrounder Dunith Wellalage keeps his place in the T20I squad despite not having played a match in the format since September. Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga are also in the squad.
Further bolstering the squad are Dhananjaya de Silva and Charith Asalanka, who are both capable of contributing with both bat and ball.
