After having a disappointing start to their tour of India, South Africa Women fueled some life to their campaign by winning the first T20I match of the three-match series on Friday in Chennai. This victory marks their first triumph on their ongoing tour of India, offering a much-needed morale boost following a series of setbacks.

Prior to their T20I success, South African team endured a challenging start to their India tour. They faced a series defeat in the three-match ODI series, where the Indian team demonstrated formidable strength and dominance. Even, South Africa couldn't manage to clinch victory in the One-Off Test match, further adding to their difficulties.

The first T20I match presented a fresh opportunity for South Africa to turn the tide, and they seized it. This win not only breaks their streak of losses but also sets a positive tone for the remaining matches of the series. In the first T20I, Tazmin Brits and Marizanne played match-winning innings, firing 81 and 57 respectively.

As South Africa prepare to face India in the second T20I on Sunday in Chennai, the team will aim to build on their recent success. This upcoming match is crucial, as another victory would seal the series in their favor, marking a significant achievement on their tour. On the other hand, India will be eager to bounce back and level the series.
