In a disappointing turn of events for Afghanistan and New Zealand, their first ever One-Off Test match was called off without a single ball being bowled on Friday in Greater Noida. The decision came after three consecutive days of heavy rainfall that severely impacted the playing conditions.

This was the eighth instance in the Test history that a Test match was called off without a ball being bowled. Over the last four days, there has been no action, with rain leading to numerous delays and interruptions. On the fifth morning, rain again returned, forcing the umpires to call off the game.

On the first two days, weather was sunny but wet outfield prevented the game from getting underway. Both teams will now shift their attention to their upcoming assignments. Afghanistan will face off against South Africa in the three-match ODI series in Sharjah. While, New Zealand will travel to Sri Lanka to play two Tests.
