WI vs BAN 1st T20I: Bangladesh overcome West Indies as Mahedi Hasan claims four scalps

Bangladesh defeated West Indies by a narrow margin of seven runs on Monday in the first T20I of the three-match series at St. Vincent, taking a 1-0 lead. Bangladesh bowlers rose to the occasion, delivering a fine performance, especially Mahedi Hasan, who played a key role in team's victory with four wickets.
Put into bat first, Bangladesh struggled to accelerate in the early stages of the innings but still managed to set a competitive total of 147/6 in 20 overs. Soumya Sarkar made huge contribution, plundering 43 off 32. Bangladesh's top-order found it tough to score freely, except Sarkar, who faced West Indies bowlers with ease.
In reply, West Indies' chase started on a dull note with their explosive batters losing their wickets early on. The pressure of the required run rate mounted as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Despite some resistance from their skipper Rovman Powell, who fired 60 off 35, West Indies fell short of the target. They were bowled out for 140 in 19.5 overs. For Bangladesh, Mehedi Hasan was the standout performer of the match, taking 4 wickets for just 13 runs in his four overs
