IRE vs ENG, 1st T20I: Everything you need to know

Ireland will take on England in the first T20I of their three-match series on Wednesday at The Village in Dublin. The series is historic, as England, for the first time, are playing against Ireland in Ireland in a T20I series. Ireland will be led by experienced Paul Stirling, who will be assisted by seasoned players such as Ross Adair, Craig Young and Harry Tector. England, on the other hand, will be led by twenty-one-year-old Jacob Bethell, who has taken over from white-ball captain Harry Brook for the Ireland tour.
Previously, Bethell has represented England in 14 T20Is, scoring 288 runs at a strike rate of 154.8. His highest in T20Is is 62 not out. England go into the series with a powerful squad boasting the likes of destructive Jos Buttler, Will Jacks, and Phil Salt.
Notably, Ireland and England have met twice in T20Is. The first time they played against each other was back in 2010, but that match ended in no result. The second time they met at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne, where Ireland claimed a five-run win through (DLS).
