Tom Moody is set to assume the role of Global Director of Cricket at Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2026 IPL season, according to ESPNcricinfo. The position will have him take overarching responsibility for LSG in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the sister franchise Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20, and the Manchester-based team in The Hundred.

As a former Australian all-rounder, his playing career gives him credible on-field insight. Moreover, he is vastly experienced, having recently guided the Oval Invincibles to their third consecutive Hundred title earlier this year. Moody’s past stint in the IPL was with Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he played a massive role in taking them to new heights.

At LSG, Moody will be working alongside Justin Langer, who remains the head coach of LSG, and Kane Williamson, who has been appointed strategic advisor. Moody replaces Zaheer Khan, who parted ways with the franchise in September 2025 earlier this year after serving as Global Director in IPL 2025.

Talking about LSG's performance, they made it to the playoffs in 2022 and 2023; however, they have endured underwhelming campaigns over the past two seasons. They ended IPL 2025 with six wins in 14 matches, finishing seventh in the points table.
