For DC, having reached all three previous WPL finals without lifting the trophy, the new season is an opportunity to overcome repeated heartbreak. There is also the dawn of a new leadership era for Delhi. The departure of legendary captain Meg Lanning has paved the way for Jemimah Rodrigues to step into the leadership role. The 25-year-old Indian is set to lead a talented Delhi Capitals.

Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, enter the game with a sense of disappointment. The defending champions stumbled in their opening match, suffering a defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, against Delhi, Mumbai will be eager to reassert their dominance to claim their first victory of the tournament.
