In the final of the Women’s Big Bash League, Adelaide Strikers Women beat Brisbane Heat Women by three runs on Saturday at Adelaide Oval to win the WBBL title 2023. Defending the total of 125, Adelaide Strikers Women restricted Brisbane Heat Women to 122/8 in (20) overs to win the coveted title. Adelaide Strikers pulled off a superb victory to emerge victorious in the final of the game. Amanda-Jade Wellington returned with the figures of three wickets from her four overs to get her team a brilliant win. Megan Schutt claimed two wickets to make her contribution in team’s win. Earlier, Adelaide Strikers Women had decided to bat after winning the toss as they had posted a modest total of (125) in (20) overs after losing five wickets. They had been helped by Laura Wolvaardt and skipper Tahlia McGrath after they both played their knocks of (39) and (38) respectively. Chasing the target, Brisbane Heat Women had a pleasant start with Grace Harris and Georgia Redmayne scoring (15) and (22) runs respectively. Amelia Kerr remained unbeaten on (30) as she lacked support from the other end after Brisbane Heat Women lost their wickets at regular intervals to succumb to the pressure. It’s a big disappointment for Brisbane Heat Women after being defeated in the final. This is Adelaide Strikers Women's back-to-back title victory!
