Shreyas Iyer to captain India 'A' in one-dayers against Australia A

Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has been entrusted with the captaincy, as he will lead India A squad in a three‑match one‑day series against Australia A from September 30 to October 5 at Green Park, Kanpur. Rajat Patidar, who had originally been named captain for this assignment, has now been handed the responsibility to lead the Rest of India squad against Ranji Trophy Champions Vidarbha in the Irani Cup, beginning October 1.
Tilak Varma, who is currently with India in the UAE for the Asia Cup, will be Iyer's deputy for the second and third games. Abhishek Sharma, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh, who are also in Dubai for the Asia Cup, will join the India A squad for the second and third matches post Asia Cup.
For the Irani Cup match, the squad includes the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Yash Dhull, Tanush Kotian, Manav Suthar, Akash Deep and Khaleel Ahmed.
